LP Customers Share Why They Love Working With LP TechShield
Twenty years ago, LP® TechShield® Radiant Barrier debuted in the Texas market, offering a new, more energy efficient way for builders to construct attics. It also provided homeowners with a way to save on their monthly cooling costs – a major benefit for the hot Texas summer months. Now, twenty years later, LP TechShield sheathing is still the number one radiant barrier on the market and is available to builders across states in the southeast and western regions.
Over the years, we've spoken with many builders about why they love using LP TechShield sheathing. We're spotlighting a few customers below who used LP TechShield to improve their businesses.
- One of the nation’s premier homebuilders, KB Home uses LP TechShield sheathing on all homes as a standard feature.
“LP TechShield Radiant Barrier sheathing offers KB Home more than energy savings for our customers. It’s easy to install with no long-term maintenance, and it represents the quality we’ve come to trust from LP.” – Jacob Atalla, Vice President of Sustainability at KB Home
- In California, Davidon Homes has used LP TechShield sheathing on luxury move-up homes and has been able to minimize some of the HVAC requirements on their homes.
“We started using TechShield sheathing when it first came out on the market. I had one home in the framing stage with the product installed when I brought my executive officers out to see firsthand how the product performed. It was probably well over 80 degrees that day, and one of the first things they commented on was how cool it felt in the house—and that was just in the framing stages! Since then, we’ve put the product on every one of our homes.” - Randy Hensley, Director of Project Development of Davidon Homes
- John Howard Companies, a home building company located in Mobile, Alabama, used LP TechShield sheathing to help cut costs and call backs on the job.
“In the last three years since I’ve been using TechShield, we haven’t had one single call in the summers about the heat in the attic causing the air conditioner not to work. I build around 100 houses a year. That’s around 300 to 400 homes, and it makes all the difference in the world.” – John Howard, President and CEO of John Howard Homes
