Every episode of He Shed She Shed features creative ways to customize and use sheds. On the May 7th episode, hosts Luke Barr and Sarah Ferrell help two shed owners turn wasted backyard space into money-making rentals.
Bob’s Rustic Weekend Retreat
Luke heads to Texas, where cattle rancher Bob wants to turn his dilapidated barn shed into an elegant weekend retreat that’s both rustic and refined. The ranch plays host to hunters, but the current accommodations aren’t fit for the ladies who want to book a nicer place to stay. Luke decides to completely gut the shed and rebuild it with LP® products. Focusing on the interior, Luke replaces the run-down kitchen with a comfortable lounge area and adds a more spacious bathroom with luxurious finishes. The western style is enhanced with reclaimed wood from a barn off the ranch.Amanda’s Treehouse ‘Shed Room’
In North Carolina, Sarah assists green builder Amanda with a unique challenge: creating a "shed room" that's as stunning as it is environmentally-friendly. Amanda wants to rent the room as a way to generate extra income. She and her boyfriend have already built a huge raised shed structure, but Amanda needs Sarah's design expertise to make the interior come to life. A spacious kitchen, full bathroom and bedroom area give plenty of room for natural living, while Sarah creates the feeling of a treehouse by bringing a tree limb from the property inside as an accent. To ensure the interior is truly environmentally-friendly, walls are covered in sustainably harvested wood and all furniture is made from recycled or eco-friendly materials.
