Catch LP Building at the 2018 IBS High Performance Building Zone

When most architects and builders talk about "high-performance construction," they're usually referring to building science innovations that help achieve the highest levels of energy efficiency and indoor air quality. But "high performance" goes way beyond that: making walls and floors straighter and sturdier, solving moisture and durability problems, and much more.

The upcoming High-Performance Building Zone (HPBZ) sessions at the 2018 IBS show prove that high efficiency now has a much broader definition. HPBZ will feature 30-minute presentations by some of today’s most acclaimed building science experts.

Here are some sessions you won’t want to miss:

  • “Higher Expectations for High-Performance Building” – Gord Cooke will discuss why warped wood andless-than-straight walls are no longer signs of a house with “character.” He’ll also explore how new engineered wood technology can make for straighter and more moisture-resistant floors. Our LP® TechShield® radiant barrier sheathing and LP Legacy® sub-flooring will be shown in applications throughout the presentation. (Tuesday January 9th 10:30 – 11:00am)

If you can’t make a full session at the demonstration stage, be sure to swing by the Building Performance Lab to see high performance building techniques and practices up-close and in action in a small, finished model home. Our high-performance products like LP® FlameBlock® Sheathing, LP® SmartSide® Trim and Siding and LP® TechShield® Sheathing will be on display.

LP Building Products is proud to be a sponsor of the HPBZ to help promote the practical, real-world side of why building science and high-performance building is transforming the housing industry.

What Should Homeowners Prioritize in a Build?

Whether it's a new phone, clothes, or a family car, today we're often resigned to the fact that the new things we own won't last forever. However, there is one thing that we still expect to endure for the long haul, and that's our homes.
