In an ever-evolving construction industry, builders and architects are working together to build smarter, more efficient homes. In addition to staying up to date on code changes and building solutions, industry professionals must also consider new trends and technology that may promote greater efficiency, teamwork and safety on the jobsite.
In the latest issue of Engineered Wood Magazine, LP highlights some of the industry’s newest products and apps for building professionals and the homeowner. Check them out below:
UpCodes App
Designed specifically for the construction industry, the UpCodes App helps builders and architects research, clarify and manage building codes by housing them all in one place. With building codes rapidly changing, the app constantly updates its library so teams are never working from outdated code. The app is available on phone, tablet or web platforms.
EksoZeroG™
The Ekso Bionics® EksoZeroG™ eases the physical burden placed on construction workers. Per the manufacturer, the EksoZeroG offers support and protection against fatigue and workplace injuries often caused by high frequency and long duration activities involving heavy equipment. The exoskeleton uses counterweights, metal tubing and a harness to transfer weight from a heavy tool to the ground.
Auto-Tilt Venetian Blinds with Intelligent Tilt Alignment
Lutron’s Venetian Blinds with Intelligent Tilt Alignment provide homeowners with complete control over the amount or angle of sunlight shining into a space, according to the manufacturer’s website. With the touch of a keypad or remote control, multiple presets can be set for diverse options for automatically adjusting blinds at any point during the day. In addition to presets, Intelligent Tilt Alignment ensures that the slat angle between adjacent blinds remains consistent for a cohesive look.
