NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 6**, 2020)** – LP Building Solutions (LP), a leader in high-performance building products, and the LP Foundation announce donations to frontline organizations working to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The LP Foundation, the charitable giving arm of LP that supports deserving nonprofits and matches employee giving, donated $50,000 to support healthcare workers and relieve hunger in the company’s home city of Nashville.
A $25,000 donation went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s COVID-19 Caregiver Support Fund. This money will provide doctors, nurses and hospital staff with housing when they are unable to go home for fear of spreading the virus to their families, child care as they work long hours and extended shifts, and personal protective equipment (PPE) so they can stay healthy while helping others.
A second $25,000 donation went to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to help feed those affected by the pandemic, including senior citizens and families with school-aged children who have lost up to two meals a day due to school closures.
Additionally, LP mills across the U.S. and Canada have sent PPE donations to local healthcare systems, hospitals and first responders. These teams assessed their stocks of N95 masks, gloves, Tychem suits and hoods, and other PPE and cleaning supplies to identify items they could donate. Lake View Hospital (Two Harbors, Minnesota)
